The Grand Casino Brussels Viage recently hosted a World Poker Tour DeepStacks event, offering players quality WPT gaming over a four-day time frame. With a buy-in of €1,200, a total of 315 players competed, generating a prize pool of just over €336,000. The event took place from March 8th until the 11th, with Ioannis Angeou-Konstas earning the first-place win, landing his second World Poker Tour DeepStacks title in a five-month time frame.

Ioannis earned his first WPTDeepStacks win back in October when he took part in the Netherlands Main Event, earning €56,805 in the process. With the recent win, the poker pro became only the second player in the history of the WPTDeepStacks events to win two titles. The only other player to do so, according to the WPT, is Rex Clinkscales.

During the Brussels Main Event, Ioannis would come to the final table with the chip lead but would not be the player doing all the damage. Early on, Roland Rozel would eliminate the first three players, however, he would be eliminated in 6th place after going up against Ioannis with an all-in hand. This would give the pro a much bigger lead and help him make it to heads-up play against Martin Kaya.

Once heads-up began, Ioannis would hold a nice chip lead, 5.75 million to 3.7 million. Ioannis would continue to maintain the lead and get a little further ahead before the final hand would go down. With less than 1 million in chips left, Kaya would go all-in with K-6 of hearts. Ioannis would call with Q-3 off-suit. The board ran A-7-4-6-Q, giving Ioannis the higher pair and the title win.

Along with the prize money, Ioannis would earn a €2,000 package to be used for the season-ending WPTDeepStacks in Europe.
